Food Safety & Allergen Information

Last updated: 1 July 2026

Buzzin' Bees produces and sells raw honey in accordance with Swedish food safety regulations and EU Regulation (EC) No 853/2004 on hygiene rules for food of animal origin, and EU Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011 on the provision of food information to consumers.

Registrations & Membership

Our apiary and honey-extraction operation is registered with the local municipality (kommunen) as a food producer in accordance with Swedish Livsmedelslagen (SFS 2006:804), and our production is subject to regular inspection.

Our beekeeping is registered with the Swedish Board of Agriculture (Jordbruksverket). We are also members of the Swedish Beekeepers' Association (Sveriges Biodlares Riksförbund / Biodlarna) through our local Stockholm association.

Our Honey — Product Description

  • Product: Raw Swedish Wildflower Honey (Rå svensk ängshonung)
  • Origin: Produced at our apiary in Svinninge, Stockholm County, Sweden
  • Processing: Extracted by centrifuge, coarsely filtered (not ultra-filtered), not heat-treated above 40°C
  • Ingredients: Honey 100%
  • Sugar content: Naturally occurring — approximately 80% sugars (fructose + glucose)

Allergen Information

⚠ Important Allergen Warning

Do not feed honey to infants under 12 months of age. Honey may contain Clostridium botulinum spores which can cause infant botulism.

  • Honey is produced in an environment where bee products (propolis, beeswax, royal jelly) are present.
  • Our extraction equipment is used solely for honey — no cross-contamination with nuts, gluten, dairy or other common allergens.
  • Pollen: Raw honey naturally contains trace amounts of pollen. Individuals with severe pollen allergies should consult a physician before consuming raw honey.

Crystallisation

Raw honey naturally crystallises over time — this is a sign of quality and does not indicate spoilage. To re-liquify, place the jar in warm water (max 40°C) and stir gently. Do not microwave.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Honey has an indefinite shelf life when stored correctly. Best before date is provided as a quality indicator, not a safety cut-off.
