Food Safety & Allergen Information

Last updated: 31 August 2026

Buzzin’ Bees produces and sells raw honey in accordance with Swedish food safety regulations and EU Regulation (EC) No 853/2004 on hygiene rules for food of animal origin, and EU Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011 on the provision of food information to consumers.

Registrations & Membership

The bees and the beekeeping operation belong to PMA Nordic AB (org.nr 559588-2159), which trades as Buzzin' Bees. The apiary is at Svinninge, Åkersberga.

We are members of the Swedish Beekeepers' Association (Sveriges Biodlares Riksförbund / Biodlarna) through our local Stockholm association, and our honey is sampled and analysed through them.

PMA Nordic AB is registered with the Swedish Board of Agriculture (Jordbruksverket) as a feed business operator (foderföretagare, SE67569098). That registration covers the bee-nutrition products we import and sell — it is not a beekeeping or food-production registration, and we would rather name it precisely than let it stand for more than it is.

Two further filings were made with Länsstyrelsen Stockholm on 31 August 2026, and they are two separate things that are easy to confuse: registration of the apiary as a primary production establishment under food law, and the notification of the apiary's location under bee-health rules.

The primary-production registration was decided on 9 September 2026 (case number 44239-2026). The apiary is entered in the county board's register as PMA Nordic AB – biodling Svinninge: production direction honey production, registered volume 120 kg, risk class 3C (yellow) of five, with Branschriktlinjer honungsproduktion and bihusesyn recorded as our quality assurance. The location notification was confirmed in writing separately.

Being registered is not the same as having been inspected, and it is not an approval of the honey. The register is what the county board uses to decide which establishments receive a control visit during the year; ours has not had one. When it does, this page will say so.

Our honey was assessed by Stockholms Biodlarförening on 26 August 2026 and approved: water content 17 %, nothing foreign found, packaging accepted. The scale starts at 16 % and anything above 20 % fails, so 17 sits at the dense end. The certificate is not a claim you have to take on trust — read the kvalitetsintyg for 2026.

Our own honey is now on sale, in 212 ml jars holding 255 g net.

Kvalitetsintyg 2026, Sveriges Biodlares Riksförbund
Kvalitetsintyg 2026The honey, assessed and approved under the Biodlarna honey regulations. Issued to the beekeeper, as Swedish beekeeping certificates are. Covers the honey, not the Dr. Gost range.
Jordbruksverkets bekräftelse, registrerad foderanläggning SE67569098
Foderanläggning SE67569098Jordbruksverket's confirmation that the feed establishment is registered. It means the business is under feed control — not that products are approved, and not a beekeeping or food registration.

Allergen Information

⚠ Important Allergen Warning

Do not feed honey to infants under 12 months of age. Honey may contain Clostridium botulinum spores which can cause infant botulism.

  • Honey is produced in an environment where bee products (propolis, beeswax, royal jelly) are present.
  • Our extraction equipment is used solely for honey — no cross-contamination with nuts, gluten, dairy or other common allergens.
  • Pollen: Raw honey naturally contains trace amounts of pollen. Individuals with severe pollen allergies should consult a physician before consuming raw honey.

Crystallisation

Raw honey naturally crystallises over time — this is a sign of quality and does not indicate spoilage. To re-liquify, place the jar in warm water (max 40°C) and stir gently. Do not microwave.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Honey has an indefinite shelf life when stored correctly. Best before date is provided as a quality indicator, not a safety cut-off.

Feed-type products fall under EU feed rules, EU Regulation (EC) No 767/2009. All Dr. Gost products are intended for use in beekeeping — not for human consumption.
