  • Plant and mineral based — no animal ingredients
  • No residue in honey or comb
  • Usable all season, every season
  • Safe to use during the honey flow

Why it goes on the comb

The organism in this is one the bees already carry — it lives in the gut of a healthy bee. Here it is cultured on its own and sprayed onto drawn comb, along with the plant extracts and aromatic oils in the same bottle.

It is made for the two stretches when comb gets the least attention. A thin colony cannot cover every frame it owns; and after the harvest the frames leave the hive altogether and stand in store for months, with nothing living on them at all.

  • Sprayed before the frames go into store. Comb spends the winter out of the hive. How you treat it on the way in decides the condition it is in when you take it out again — and by then it is too late to do anything about it.

  • For the weeks a colony is thin. A small colony owns more comb than it can keep up with. This is a way of looking after the wax through the stretch when the bees themselves cannot.

  • Nothing foreign to the hive. The organism is one the hive already has, and the rest is plant extract and aromatic oil — no synthetic chemicals, and no residue in honey or comb.

It can be used through the season and repeated year after year, and there is no withdrawal period to plan around.

Common questions

Does it contain anything of animal origin?
The manufacturer declares this product to be entirely of plant and mineral origin, containing no ingredients of animal origin — no honey, milk, meat, egg, animal protein or animal fat.
Does it leave any residue in the honey?
No. The products leave no residue in honey or comb, so a treated colony still produces honey you can harvest and sell normally.
Can I use it during the honey flow?
Yes. Because nothing carries over into the honey, they can be used during the flow rather than only in the gaps between harvests.
How often can it be used?
They can be used continuously through the season and repeated season after season — there is no withdrawal period to plan around and no rotation requirement.
The product has a smell — is something wrong?
No, that is expected. The products are naturally made and contain fermented ingredients, which can give off a noticeable smell. Bees find it attractive rather than off-putting — it is a scent they seek out.
How long does it keep, and how should it be stored?
Each pack carries a recommended use-by date, generally 24 months from manufacture. Keep it in its original packaging between 5 and 20 °C, out of direct sunlight. The smell and any settling may change over time — that belongs to a naturally produced, fermented product.
Can I return an opened product?
No. For health and hygiene reasons, a product whose own vented plastic cap or inner packet has been opened cannot be returned (EU Consumer Rights Directive art. 16). The outer shipping box does not count — you may open the parcel and look at the goods. Products with their own seal intact can be returned within 14 days.
